Building the backbone of Kenya’s economy through knowledge, mentorship, and training.

Kenya SME Academy is dedicated to equipping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the skills, tools, and networks they need to succeed. We believe that when SMEs thrive, Kenya thrives.

Mission

Empowering small and medium enterprises in Kenya and Africa with practical training, mentorship, and resources that drive sustainable growth and innovation.

Vision

To be the leading SME training hub in Kenya and across Africa, enabling businesses to scale, create jobs, and compete in the global marketplace.

Why SMEs Matter

Small and medium enterprises drive Kenya’s economy:

SMEs contribute over 40% of Kenya’s GDP.

They employ more than 80% of the workforce, providing livelihoods for millions.

SMEs foster innovation, resilience, and community development across the country.

SMEs face various challenges that hinder their growth and full potential.

These challenges include a lack of or limited business management skills, access to finance, access to information, limited or no infrastructure, and legal and regulatory frameworks.

In this regard, the Kenya SMEs Academy provides business development support to help SMEs address these challenges and reach their full potential.

By supporting SMEs, we are building stronger businesses, stronger communities, and a stronger Kenya.
